Thomas Davis - LB CAROLINA

Does anyone think he is worth adding in a 12 team IDP league now that Jon Beason is gone? To be honest, I am not impressed with Luke Kuechly so far this year. He had two games scoring double-digit fantasy points and isn't even a top 30 LB in my league in terms of scoring. he is ranked 47th in solo tackles as well. The scoring and starters are below. What LB would you drop to pick Thomas Davis?

Here are my LBS:

Burnett, Kevin OAK LB
Butler, Donald SDC LB
Carter, Bruce DAL LB
Fletcher, London WAS LB
Jones, Brad GBP LB
Kendricks, Mychal PHI LB

Tackles = 1 pt.
Assists = .5 pts.
Sacks = 3 pts.
Ints. = 4 pts.
Forced Fumbles = 2 pts.
Fumble Rec. = 2 pts.
Passes Def. = 1 pt.
TDS = 6 pts.
.1 pts. for every yard on INTS and fumble Recoveries
Safeties = 5 pts.

Re: Thomas Davis - LB CAROLINA

T. Davis has always seemed to fit Carolina's WLB spot than Beason...for whatever reason. His recent success doesn't mean he's better than Kuechly though. Kuechly's a beast. I haven't had the opportunity to watch many of their games, but I'd guess Davis' success is a result of other teams scheming Kuechly. I think Davis having success helps Kueckly down the road.

Now for your question.  IMO, Davis probably has a higher ceiling (week to week) than most of the guys you have, but probably a lower floor too. Not to mention that Davis' biggest problem, which has been health. He's pretty good when healthy, but doesn't usually finish the year. Kind of the Darren McFadden of defense. I think you can flip a coin on most of those guys ROS. Maybe the Guru has a more definitive opinion. Good luck.

Thank you. Health def. is Davis' downfall. That is why I am weary to add him. I do like Kuechly long-term. I am just a bit surpirsed that he hasn't put up better numbers. But it is a long season.

Thanks again.

I don't think Beason's departure bumps up Davis' value much. I'd be patient and hold onto the LBs you have.
