drop Harrison Smith for Kurt Coleman?

Coleman just won the starting strong safety job. He has been beast mode for a while last year. While Harrison Smith is exciting rookie prospect, am I better off to have Coleman instead? My other safety is D Landry and has no other bench space to scoop up Coleman.

I'm not sold on Smith being a top notch fantasy DB. I would drop him and pickup Coleman personally. As long as he's starting, he's got value.

Re: drop Harrison Smith for Kurt Coleman?

Coleman hasn't really impressed me during preseason, do you think there will be a drop off in production with the upgrades to the front 7 philly made this year

Re: drop Harrison Smith for Kurt Coleman?

Yes, the Eagles have upgraded their front seven with the additions of Ryans and Kendricks. However, Ryans really hasn't played very well so far this preseason and I'm not worried about Akeem Jordan on the weak side.

Coleman is never really impressive. That's kind of way he has nice fantasy value. He tends to over pursue and just want to make tackles and he gets burned in coverage a lot which leads to more tackles. With this said, I think he's a nice upside DB3 pick, but there's risk there as he may eventually lost the starting job if he continue his lackluster play.
