Tips for IDP Draft

My league does a seperate draft for IDP. It is auction style with a $100 budget

We use 3 LB, 2 DL, 2 DB, and a flex position (LB, DL, DB)

Scoring system:

Sack 4
1/2 Sack (HALFSK) 2 Blocked Punt, PAT or FG (BLKK) 5
Each Interception (INT) 6 Each Fumble Recovered (FR) 2
Each Fumble Forced (FF) 4 Each Safety (SF) 5
Assisted Tackles (TKA) 0.75 Solo Tackles (TKS) 1.5
Stuffs (SF) 3 Passes Defensed (PD) 1.5

How would you prioritize your picks. I have never really found good auction values for idps bc in my league Watt is likely to go for $70. Top tier LB could go $30-40 and top tier DB $20+

Re: Tips for IDP Draft

I'd grab two DLs within your first 3 IDP selections. There is a ton of late round value to be had at the LB position this year, so you can afford to weight. DLs are harder to scrap off the WW, so grab two elite ones if you can. Wait wait wait on DB. A ton always emerge on the wire over the first couple weeks. If one of the top tier DBs (Weddle, Smith, Jones, Burnett, Cyprien) is still left with your fourth IDP, feel free to grab one.

Re: Tips for IDP Draft

would you spend a lot to get watt? He will likely go for 60-70.

Re: Tips for IDP Draft

Yes. Although since I live in IDP stuff 24/7, I usually pass since I can usually build a solid IDP late and focus on offense. But for most owners, spending to get Watt is a solid strategy.
