Strategy Question - Safeties

Your weekly article - Pts given up by teams to DBs - is very helpful. I also use NFL stats to prepare my roster e.g. team rankings for passing yards. However, I am a bit confused on something. How does this apply to a FS vs a SS?

For instance: M. Burnett is a FS and wouldn't he be tested more by a passing team than a team which runs a lot? Wouldn't the opposite be true for Bell or Harper who are SS?

Yes, my Safeties are studs but they have seemingly poor machups this week: Burnett vs KC; Bell vs Buf; Harper vs Minn; Wilson vs Mia; Chancellor vs Chi. None of these teams are strong passing teams yet a team like Minny (with AP healthy) has a solid run game. Does that mean Harper has a decent match up? I realize there are other variables such as QB int stats, a move to a passing game in the 2nd half due to a lop sided score (Minny vs NO) etc...but all things being equal should I take FS/SS into consideration when preparing my roster?

thanks

Re: Strategy Question - Safeties

Yah, it's not really clear cut. You have to read between the lines a lot of times and just know if the team passes a lot of runs a lot. For example, the Chargers are a good matchup for safeties in general, but moreso free safeties as they tend to throw a lot.
