Mark Barron & Tampa-2

Ryan,

I read in your bold predictions that you're going to drop Mark Barron in your rankings because of the Buc's implementation of the Tampa-2 defensive scheme and Barron lining up 15+ yards from the line of scrimmage through the first two preseason games.

How far will he drop if this trend continues?  From DB1 to DB2 or even lower?

I play in a 10 team league and our IDP scoring includes 2 pts per tackle, 1 point per assist, 2 points per tackle for a loss, 3 points per sack, 1 point per forced fumble, 2 points per fumble recovery, 1 point per pass defensed, 6 points per interception, and 6 points per touchdown.

I drafted Barron and Rolle as my starting DB's; would you drop either for guys sitting on my waiver wire such as LaRon Landry, Roman Harper, DaNorris Searcy, Jarius Byrd, or Rookies Deone Bucannon or Brock Vereen?

I'd hold him for now until we see a couple more preseason games. Especially since you can likely grab those guys listed below off the waiver wire early in the season. Barron's got too much upside to drop off speculation especially if you have other options readily available. I put that note more as of statement to watch him closely and if he gets off to a slow start be ready to pull the trigger and drop him.

Thank you Ryan.  Do you have any updates on Bucannon?  Early speculation was that he'd land the starting SS position and may slide into the LB position on nickel downs...Recently, I've read that he's not starting and only playing during certain packages.  

I traded Barron & Lamarr Houston in my dynasty league yesterday for Jarred Allen, Eric Weddle, and Brandon Spikes. We have pretty deep rosters, and I feel like I'm in a position to win it this year with an older roster. Did I make a good move there?

I like this trade quite a bit. You are upgrading in every position and it gives you a better chance to win immediately.
