I'd go after Woodyard first then Nicholas and drop Conner. Stick with Foster (give me another week).
I'm a big Cowboys fan and watched the entire game last week. Carter played decent and showed amazing quickness and speed (something the Cowboys have been lacking on the inside). However, he made some mistakes (overran plays, missed tackles). Plus, Victor Butler definitely stole some nickel snaps away from him. Add in the fact that Dan Conner is still lurking in the background and is an underrated player in his own right and you have a murkier situation than a lot of people think.
I agree that if Carter can snag an every down role, he has LB3+/LB2- value. He put up 5 tackles on only 30 snaps last week. The fact is, I just don't know if Rob Ryan is willing to trust him with an every down role yet. If you have space for him, pick him up and let him sit on your bench. Then if/when he explodes you will have him, if you need to fill a starter spot, he's a bit of a risk as an LB3 or higher.
