IDP Keepers

Hi,

My league lets us carry over 2 IDP players to our team next year, they can be anyone who's on our roster at the end of the season. I am looking for some guidance or rankings list showing projected best keepers to hold for next year. I have guys like Patrick Willis, Navarro Bowman, Sean Lee, Kiko Alonso on my waiver wire because they aren't active right now, and wondering if I should grab one of them as a stash to use as my keeper for next year. I don't really know where my guys rank compared to them looking at next year factors (age, contract, injuries, etc.). My best defensive guys I currently have rostered are Curtis Lofton, D'Quell Jackson, James Laurinitus, and Harrison Smith. Thanks for any input you can provide.

Re: IDP Keepers

Unless you have two other tier-1 stars already, I would definitely stash Bowman.  At least in my league, he was the top scoring player in the ENTIRE IDP POOL last year, and #6 in 2012.  I think he's only about 26 years old, so he very well could bounce back to top form next year.

Re: IDP Keepers

Thanks, I really appreciate your help! I grabbed him as a stash off the waiver wire and may keep him and Harrison Smith for next year.

Happy Holidays

Re: IDP Keepers

Good move.  I have Smith in two of my leagues this year and he's been the highest/tied for highest scoring DB out there.  You now have two cornerstones for next year.

If there isn't any penalty (give up x round draft pick) you are strictly looking for the best 2 LBs to keep.

Willis, Bowman, Lee and Alonso are all proven tier 1 LBs if they are healthy. All of them have shown different health concerns and that needs to be taken into consideration.

Lofton, Jackson, and Laurinitus have been less injury prone but can provide similar talent.

I personally would keep Laurinitus (I like what the rams have done in the offseason) and Alonso (He is young and will bounce back).
