Dynasty stash value for the IR spot

This post was updated on .
I apologize for the non idp question, guru. Our league has one IR spot and i am currently stashing A Brown (Giant RB) as his injury is not believed to be serious and D Wilson does not earn the trust from the coach. Last week, C Michael (Sea RB) was dropped as he was healthy inactive. If he is healthy inactive again this week, I can stash him in IR slot by league rule. While Michael does not seem to have a chance this year behind Lynch, he could become a factor starting from next year if Lynch walks away for free agency. this is dynasty league and my team is thin on RB (D Martin, Forte as starter, L Miller, B Tate as bench players). I wonder it is good move to drop A Brown for C Michael for Ir slot. C Michael looks beast to me during the preseason.

Re: Dynasty stash value for the IR spot

Lynch is actually only in the second year of a 4 year contract.  That doesn't mean that Seattle will surely keep him next season, but his cap hit actually goes down next season, even when you include the roster bonus.

With that said, I would still have to say that Michael's potential is as high as anyone out there.  But I think he won't really get a chance to pay off until 2015.  That doesn't mean he won't be a backup next year and get some touches.  (I'm thinking a lot like C.J. Spiller from 2011.)  I don't think your RB's look terribly weak, but if want a spot starter for this year or next, stick with Brown.  But I would roll the dice with Michael as long as it isn't too costly to keep him in whatever format you use.

Re: Dynasty stash value for the IR spot

Agree. If you want to win this year, stick with Brown. He will come back week 11 and be a nice spot starter based on the matchup during fantasy playoff period. If you are on rebuilding mode, C Michael makes sense. Top 5 RB potential, but has to wait until Lynch is wearing off for next couple of years.
