Dynasty DB

This post was updated on .
This might sound like another post, maybe because I'm copy and pasting most of it lol

As a group I believe I have good young group with upside. But my top guy in the group I think has some question marks now with the system change. Antoine Bethea / Jairus Byrd / T.J Ward / Malcolm Jenkins.

I start 3 DBs so would like to carry 4. Scoring is based mostly on tackles 2.5 for a solo and 1.5 for an assist. So my question for this group is do I have the guys with the right upside to become a top 5 group or should I go out and get a top guy and not worry about age?

Guys on the WW that I believe can fill in as a good DB 3 / 4 if I can trade for a top tier guy.

Brandon Flowers / Antoine Winfield / Brandon Meriweather / Nate Allen / Thomas DeCoud / Tom Zbikowski / Alterraun Verner and with the move to FS I think Ronde Barber could be a good sleeper as a DB 3 / 4.

Thanks for any comments anyone can give me :)

Re: Dynasty DB

I think Winfield is a Top 25 DB (when healthy) and Verner could be this year's Jason McCourty. As I'm sure you know, the DB position is extremely volatile from a fantasy perspective. I think Bethea is still a top 10 DB with the amount of tackle opportunities he's likely to receive this season. Ward's ceiling is a bit limited playing behind Rubin and Jackson, but he's still worth a top 25 selection. Byrd was a bit fluky last season and I think his tackle production drops off quite a bit this year. He has a knack for finding the ball however, and is a solid DB2-DB2+ in big play leagues. I'm not real high on Jenkins. I would drop him for Winfield or Verner.
