Daryl Washington's out tag in ESPN league

This post was updated on .
Somebody dropped Daryl Washington as he has a "tag" in espn league. I am pretty weak on LB corps and currently has No.1 waiver priority. If his out tag is a mistake (which should be based on #1 rank in week1 LB ranking), is it worth to use No.1 waiver priority on him? Do you expect Washington can be top 5 LB in 2012 season? My league is tackle heavy rather than big plays.

If you recommend me to pickup Washington, who would you drop?

My LBs are

Kuechly, Briggs, Riley, DJ Smith

If you think they are not droppable, I have depth in my RBs (S Jax, Forte, Martin, Ingram, J Rodgers, D Wilson, M Leshoure). Is it ok to drop Leshoure for Washington?

Re: Daryl Washington's out tag in ESPN league

Joshua, I'm not sure what happened in the ESPN (only) leagues, but I noticed that '*' by Daryl Washington's name when someone dumped him yesterday. Today the asterisk was gone and I grabbed him.

My linebackers were Wake (duel eligibility with DL), Barnett, Briggs, DJ Smith and Hawthorne.

I really like Hawthorne as I think he will be THE man in the NO defense with Lofton, however, he has some injury issues so I dropped him for Washington.

It depends on your league because I was able to get him as a FA vs. W so I see your quandary about using that No1. Personally, if you can get a top five player at almost any position, I think I would go for it.

Re: Daryl Washington's out tag in ESPN league

He was listed as OUT because his Grandmother passed away and he missed a preseason game because of it. As far as I know, he's a full go for Week 1 of the regular season. It was just a matter of the league management sites not updating his status.

Re: Daryl Washington's out tag in ESPN league

Thanks for the info and advice! I will drop one of my offensive players to pick up Daryl Washington for sure. Once I pick him up, I will be in last order in wavier. My team is little bit thin on WR position as well. It may not be appropriate to mention offensive player here, but after watching breakout performance of Ogletree last night, would you wait and use 1st waiver priority on him? Washington will be sure top 5 LB, while Ogletree could be a fluke due to extensive coverage of Austin and Bryant last night. On the other hand, Ogletree could be this year's L Ronbinson. Tough decision. My gut is telling to go with Washington and let someone to take Ogletree. But, I may have another chance to pick up stud LB early in the season.

My WRs are Colston, Maclin, Blackmon, Crabtree, M Williams of TB. Do you think it is worth while to give up D Washington for Ogletree?

Re: Daryl Washington's out tag in ESPN league

lol did you watch the game? Ogletree wasn't covered the entire game and when he was it was the giants 4th string CB on him and he would manage to get into the right spot. Don't overreact to him playing a defense with some many injuries at CB

I'd pick up Washington. Although there are no sure things in fantasy football, Washington is about as close as you get as long as he stays healthy.
